There is a whole world of wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Mosses, birds, insects, flowers, trees, sea-life, fungi, mammals and much more - we've got them covered.

"The species identification specialist is an endangered expert and increasingly this is being recognised across the ecological sector and beyond" - Natural History Museum.

Edinburgh Natural History Society is made up of learners and teachers at all levels of knowledge and collectively known as NATS.

  • Grow your interest at an exciting mix of events
  • 40 field trips from spring to autumn
  • Monthly talks and field trips during the winter

Field trips are focussed on what is found on the day and there are generally a number of specialists to sharing their expertise. There is no fear in asking about the very common such as a daisy, you will also gain knowledge less commonly known.

Some specialist field trips and workshops are held each season.
