Midlothian Outdoor Festival - this day will be an opportunity to show others what members of Edinburgh Natural History Society do.
A field introduction to exploring nature in the varied habitats at Penicuik Estate. Challenge your senses and find out how to use equipment to observe the plants and animals around you.
A walk around the High Pond to sense what is around us on the ground and water, and in the air in the morning.
And, in the afternnon, a look to see what makes it's home in a wall.
You do not need to be an expert in natural history to take part; you will be sharing knowledge in finding out about your world.
Check advice page for field trip guidelines. Consider carrying a stick/trekking pole to help negotiating some rough ground or when leaving a path.

Penicuik Estate EH26 9JB *Special information for this event. ENHS members (up to 5) will meet at Lowrie's Den car park and walk down to Pencuik House to meet those booked for the Midlothian events. If you would like to take part please register in advance.
