GOGARBURN
(This event has already taken place)

Water and plants

IN DETAIL

A walk around Edinburgh Park including the Gogar Burn(2-3 miles). The route will be completed on the Tram to avoid crossing the A8. At sunset, if the conditions are suitable, starlings gather and may murmurate over the area. At Balgreen Tram stop, by Jenners Building, waxwings have gathered in the trees this winter.

Those with CEC Concession Cards and Ridacards are able to travel on the tram without charge, for others the cost is £4 (correct coins or debit card) for a day ticket - allowing unlimited travel on Lothian Buses in Edinburgh and the tram (not to the airport).

Cards need to be validated before you get on the tram, hold the card against the yellow circle until a green light appears above the screen.

A single tram ticket may be purchased with the correct coins £1.70, minimum spend on debit card is £3. You must travel within 30 minutes of buying a single ticket or it becomes invalid.

Parking at the Gyle Shopping Centre is restricted to 4 hours. Further parking space is available by office buildings at Edinburgh Park or at Ingliston Park and Ride.

There is a poet's trail and benches to eat lunch outside, however the Gyle Shopping Centre will never be a great distance, and offers warmth and various food/drink outlets.

Please remember that you attend at your own risk. Bring a packed lunch and wear suitable waterproof clothing and footwear. Any field trips may be cancelled or changed; please check the website before attending.
