SAUGHTON PARK
(This event has already taken place)

Walled garden

IN DETAIL

Visit the newly restored Saughton Park and Gardens which include a loop of the Water of Leith. Otters and water rail were regularly observed over the winter and it is a good location for several species of ladybird and water flies.

The best access is by public transport. Lothian Buses – many buses will take you to Saughton Park, the following offer a good service. Number 38 Balgreen School stop, Number 22 Stevenson Grove stop and Number 25 Saughton Park stop

or Tram to Balgreen – 15 minute walk to Skatepark

Parking by the Skatepark is in great demand. There is a larger car park at the west end of the park and can be reached by driving around the park - the following link shows the location on Google Maps https://goo.gl/maps/cQQhu2SGA86ZBtEAA (copy and paste)

Check advice page for field trip guidelines. Consider carrying a stick/trekking pole to help negotiating some rough ground or when leaving a path.
