A River Esk Walk starts our summer programme of events with a new meeting point and area to explore.

Walking from QMU, across to the Esk and then down the Esk. Calling in at Inveresk Lodge Garden NTS en route and ending up at the mouth of the Esk in Musselburgh for a look at the birds. Inveresk Lodge Garden is a NTS property - free to members and small charge for non-members (£3.50/2.50 honesty box).

At Musselburgh - Lothian buses 26, 44 and 30 plus East Coast buses (Lothian day ticket valid) 113, 106, 124 for return.

Check advice page for field trip guidelines. Consider carrying a stick/trekking pole to help negotiating some rough ground or when leaving a path.

Queen Margaret University QMU EH21 6SP Two minute walk from Musselburgh Station, on the line between Waverley and North Berwick. Lothian Buses 45 and 30 stop at QMU. You will find the best public transport routes from your location by using Googlemaps. QMU access is restricted and street parking may be possible. There are a good number of double yellow lines.
