HERIOT-WATT TREE TRAIL
(This event has already taken place)

Tree for Heriot Watt Tree Trail

IN DETAIL

The Heriot-Watt (HW) Tree Trail outing. Meet outside main reception (near the campus bus terminus), The Avenue. There is ample free parking at nearby carparks A, B and J. Public transport includes several buses - 34,35 and 25 to the adjacent Hermiston Park and Ride. The 45 and some others go to the campus bus terminus.

The trail is a lovely 1 mile walk, mostly flat easy terrain and it will be taken at a leisurely pace. It is suitable for all abilities, however it can be wet and muddy in places. The route includes 50 sign posted trees (information is available on the HW website). It is designed as a self-led guided trail using information on the internet, but Carolyn will have a printed copy of the information to hand. Whilst the main aim is to look at the trees on the trail we will also take time to look at plants, fungi and insects encountered en-route.

There are toilets and refreshments available on the campus at the Student Union and the nearby Orium.

Please wear suitable clothing, stout footwear and bring waterproofs, lunch and a drink.
