VISIT TO ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND HQ AT GOGARBURN WITH EDINBURGH AND LOTHIANS FUNGUS ENTHUSIASTS
(This event has already taken place)

fungi and moss

IN DETAIL

The site offers a range of habitats, grassland, reed bed, parkland as well as mature woodland. There is a proactive policy of leaving dead wood lying, especially in the woodland with should give a good range of wood decaying fungi.

ELFE will focus their attention on the older woodland area and only cover a short distance. If you want to look at more of the site which is bounded by the roads, golf course and farmland you will be able to guide yourself around the paths.

Bring lunch and clothing to suit the season. The campus is mainly of paths either hard surfaces or wood chippings; in some areas we will be walking over possibly wet grass.

Most of the route will be level ground however we will be going up and down steps and some of the terrain may be uneven ground. There are no toilet facilities.
