A 4.5 mile walk around Penicuik Estate where there will be sightings of birds, fungi, mosses, lichens, trees in winter bud and wildflower winter leaves. The walk is on good paths and tracks throughout with one short incline which we will take very slowly.

X62 Borders Bus (Galashiels - Gate E Stance 10 ) from the Edinburgh Bus Station (off St Andrew Square ) at 09:05 arrives in time for the 10:00 start. Both leaders will be travelling by bus.

There is plenty of off-street car parking available in the vicinity of Valleyfield Road.

Bring lunch and a drink, stout footwear, warm clothing and waterproofs. Binoculars if you have them will be useful.
