Outing to the ancient Oak Woodland Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located in Dalkeith Country Park. Focus is on spring woodland flora and grasses but we are likely to spot other nature - birds, fungi, insects, butterflies, mosses and lichens. Paths and tracks throughout the walk, some muddy conditions may be encountered.

Meet at the Country Park car park (NT336680). There is a £3.00 charge for the car park, cash and cards both accepted. Toilets and cafe are located nearby but be ready for 10:30 start.

Wear suitable clothing and stout footwear. Bring waterproofs, lunch and a drink. Binoculars, if you have them may be useful.
